Maze Forge Privacy Policy

Last updated: 2026-07-17

Your mazes, saves and statistics stay on your device. We never receive them. Two things do leave your device: advertising, because the free tier shows a banner served by Google AdMob (see Advertising), and diagnostics, which tell us when the app breaks (see Diagnostics). Maze Forge Pro is ad-free.

What we do

What we don't do

Diagnostics

Diagnostics help us find faults we cannot reproduce ourselves. When they are on, the app sends crash reports (what the app was doing when it failed, your device model and OS version) and basic usage events (which features get used) to Google Firebase, acting as our processor. They never include your mazes, saves, or statistics.

In the EEA, the UK and Switzerland, nothing is sent unless you agree. The app asks on first launch, through the same consent prompt it uses for advertising. If you decline, or if we cannot reach the service that establishes whether you are in one of those regions, no diagnostics are sent at all.

Elsewhere, diagnostics are on by default and you can switch them off at any time: Customise → Diagnostics → Share diagnostics. Switching it off stops collection everywhere, whatever you told the consent prompt.

Report a problem (Customise → Library) is separate and always available. It opens your own email app with a diagnostic summary you can read and edit first. Nothing is sent unless you send it, and it works whether or not diagnostics are switched on.

Advertising

The free tier shows a single banner ad served by Google AdMob. To request an ad, the AdMob SDK sends Google technical and device information, for example a device advertising identifier, coarse language/region, and ad-interaction events. That data is processed by Google under its own privacy policy; we do not receive it, and we build no advertising profile of our own. Maze Forge Pro shows no ads and starts no ad SDK at all.

On iOS, before any ad tracking the app asks your permission through Apple's App Tracking Transparency prompt; if you decline, ads are served in a limited, non-personalised mode. On Android, you can reset or delete your advertising identifier in your device's system settings to limit tracking.

In-app purchases

Maze Forge sells a single one-time "Pro" unlock through the app store on your device. The purchase is processed by Apple (on iOS) or Google (on Android); we never see your payment details. A small flag indicating whether you own Pro is cached locally on your device so the app works offline.

Children

Maze Forge is suitable for all ages but is not specifically directed at children under 13. The free tier serves general-audience ads through Google AdMob (see Advertising); we do not knowingly collect personal data from children, and Maze Forge Pro is ad-free.

Changes to this policy

If a future version of Maze Forge adds anything that meaningfully changes this policy, we will:

  1. Update this document with the new date at the top.
  2. Surface the change in-app on the next launch after the update.
